The AABWA 2023 Christmas Event on Saturday December 2nd, inspired by the Wizard of Oz theme, was a spectacular occasion marked by a blend of entertainment, charity, and community spirit.

This year’s event was hosted at Huntingdale Golf Club. The evening began with a registration period where attendees had the opportunity to mingle and take photos, set against the melodious backdrop of a live band.
President Jane Wei's opening speech set the tone for the evening, emphasizing the importance of community and charity.
This was followed by an address from the Head of Philanthropy of Eastern Health Foundation, Imran Karim, and scholarship recipient nurses (Charmaine Briffa & Saly Rashed), who shared insights into their experiences and the impact of AABWA's support.
Everyone also enjoyed a qipao runway show hosted by Eva Wu, which showcased the ladies’ beautiful traditional Chinese dress.
One of the highlights of the night was the fashion show, where models showcased a range of exquisite outfits, capturing the essence of the Wizard of Oz theme.
This was complemented by a series of belly dance performances, which added a vibrant and energetic flair to the proceedings.
The event also included heartwarming and entertaining singing performances, further lifting the spirits of the audience. The music band, with their dynamic repertoire, kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout the evening. Guests had the pleasure of listening to Angel Zhang, vocalist, lyricist, vocal coach and songwriter perform.
A key feature of the event was the auction and raffle segment, which included a range of luxury items and exclusive experiences. This segment not only provided excitement for the attendees but also played a crucial role in fundraising for the foundation’s initiatives.

The final announcement of the total donation amount was a proud moment for all involved, showcasing the generosity and commitment of the AABWA community to making a difference. Everyone’s commitment to the cause was shown through the amazing amount raised, a total of $15,000. An incredible effort, thank you all.
